SameTone Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026. Version: 2026-10-25.
This policy explains what information SameTone stores in your browser to operate the website and provide analytics, and how you can manage your choices. Information about the service provider, the personal data we process, recipients, server-side retention, and your rights is set out in the Privacy Policy.
1. Technologies we use
Cookies are small records that a browser stores for a website and may send to it with requests. They help, for example, keep you signed in to your account.
localStorage is website storage in your browser that persists between visits. Unless the website sets its own deletion period, entries remain until the website, you, or the browser removes them.
sessionStorage is website storage for a browser tab's session. It is usually cleared when the tab closes; restoring a browser session may also restore these entries.
2. Essential technologies and analytics
Essential technologies
These support account sign-in, retaining anonymous uploads and linking them to your account, and remembering your cookie choices. These functions operate independently of consent to analytics. You cannot disable them through SameTone's cookie settings. You can restrict them in your browser, but this may interrupt an upload, require you to sign in again, or cause the cookie choices notice to appear again.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is provided for analytics. When analytics is enabled on the website, it starts in your browser only after you consent. It helps us understand where visitors come from and how they progress from visiting the website to receiving a demo and making a purchase.
Before you make a choice, and when you refuse analytics, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics events are sent to it. Continuing to browse or closing the settings dialog without saving does not count as consent.
The Privacy Policy describes the information sent to Google Analytics and the purposes of processing in detail. This policy covers browser storage and managing the related choices.
3. Information stored in your browser
The table lists the main entries provided by the current implementation. Google cookies appear only when analytics is enabled and you have consented.
| Name | Type | Purpose and category | Who uses it | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Host-dubbing.anonymous | Cookie | Essential: allows an upload to continue before sign-in and to be linked to your account | SameTone | Up to one year; removed once the upload has been linked to your account |
__Secure-dubbing.session-token | Cookie | Essential: keeps you signed in to your account | SameTone | No longer than the sign-in session, up to seven days |
sametone_ga4_context | Cookie | Remembers your cookie choice; with consent, also contains analytics identifiers | SameTone | Up to one year from the last write; its contents are updated when your choice changes |
sametone.analytics.v1 | localStorage | Remembers your cookie choice; with consent, also contains analytics identifiers | SameTone | No automatic expiry is currently set; the entry remains until removed or updated |
sametone.attribution.v1 | sessionStorage | Analytics: stores referral source information for the current tab session | SameTone | For the tab session; removed when analytics is disabled |
_ga, _ga_* | Cookies | Analytics: allow Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and retain session information | SameTone uses Google Analytics technology | Two years by default; the actual lifetime depends on Google Analytics settings and browser restrictions |
The sametone_ga4_context and sametone.analytics.v1 entries remember both consent and refusal. When you refuse analytics, they retain your choice and analytics identifiers are removed. Remembering your choice does not mean you have consented to analytics.
These lifetimes apply to information in your browser. Retention of data already sent to Google Analytics or stored on SameTone's servers is described separately in the Privacy Policy.
4. Choosing and changing your settings
On your first visit, you can accept analytics, refuse it, or open settings and save your choice. Refusing analytics does not prevent you from using SameTone's core features.
If you do not interact with the cookie choices notice, analytics remains off. If you have already saved a choice, closing settings without saving leaves that choice unchanged.
To change your decision, open Cookie settings in the website footer, change the analytics toggle, and save your settings. The button's label may be translated depending on the website language.
When you disable analytics, the website stops Google Analytics in the current tab and removes Google's analytics cookies accessible to the website and stored analytics identifiers. Your refusal remains stored so that it can be respected on later visits. The change is also sent to SameTone's server to stop subsequent server-side analytics submissions.
Changing your settings does not automatically delete information already sent or undo submissions made before the change. The Privacy Policy explains how to make requests concerning your data.
Your choice is saved in the browser on your current device. You need to make a separate choice in another browser or on another device. Refresh other tabs of the website that are already open to apply your new choice there.
5. Browser controls
You can delete or restrict cookies and other website data using your browser's controls. The available actions depend on the browser you use.
Deleting SameTone's website data may sign you out, interrupt the continuation of an anonymous upload, and remove your saved cookie choice. After the choice is removed, the website will offer cookie settings again; analytics remains off until you give new consent.
6. Related information
